In the country’s capital, New Delhi, opposition parties held a press conference on Monday (August 18, 2025) and questioned the fairness of the Election Commission. Congress, SP, Trinamool Congress, RJD, Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) and DMK MPs alleged in one voice that the Election Commission is working biased and avoiding answering the legitimate questions of the opposition.
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi accused
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi said that impeachment has been agreed against the Chief Election Commissioner and steps will be taken at the appropriate time. He alleged that instead of answering the questions of the opposition, the Election Commission started accusing him. He questioned the voter list disturbances, CCTV footage being deleted and 70 lakh new voters in Maharashtra.
SP MP Ram Gopal Yadav lashed out at Election Commission
SP MP Ram Gopal Yadav said, ‘The Election Commission did not answer any of our questions. He has no answer to the questions raising Akhilesh Yadav, Rahul Gandhi. In Uttar Pradesh too, at the time of elections in Kundarki, all the Muslims and Yadav society votes were removed and got second votes. In Mainpuri too, only one fraternity officer was deployed, he was an angle officer, he belonged to the Chief Minister’s caste. We had also given a written complaint against this, but no action was taken on it. The Election Commission which is saying that no affidavid was given is wrong. The Election Commission ignores our complaints.
2022 election mentioned, serious allegations made
Ram Gopal Yadav further said, ‘The intention of the Election Commission and the government is harmful to the country, this will cause loss of the country. During the UP elections of 2022, when Akhilesh Yadav said that the votes of SP supporters have been cut on a large scale, the Election Commission gave notice. 18000 votes were given information, we have given an affidavit of 18000 votes. It has 18000 receipts. In the by -election, Yadav and Muslims were removed by booth level officer 100 percent. On which no investigation was done. Similarly, since the Mainpuri election standard itself was appointed as officials of the fraternity of the Chief Minister, the fraternity of the Chief Minister. The Election Commission says that allegations are made without facts, if you do not give affidavit, then it is not so. The Election Commissions completely ignored our complaints. The intention of the government and the Election Commission is not right, who does not have the vote, you will tell him that he is not a citizen of the country.
