A special sub-inspector of Tamil Nadu Police was brutally murdered, causing sensation in the entire area. This heartbreaking incident took place in the private estate of Mahendran, AIADMK MLA of Madthukulam. A father and his two sons have been accused on the charge of murder.
The deceased SI has been identified as Shanmugwell, a resident of Thalavipattinam in Dharapuram and posted at Kudimangalam police station near Udumalapet.
What is the whole matter?
According to police sources, the accused Murthy used to work in the estate of his elder son Manikandan and younger son Thangapandi MLA Mahendran. On Tuesday (August 5, 2025), there was a quarrel between the idol and Thangapandi over something, in which the idol suffered injuries. Other family members informed the police, after which special SI Shanmugwell and Constable Aguraja reached the spot. On reaching there, he sent the idol to the hospital and tried to resolve the matter peacefully.
Meanwhile, it is alleged that Manikandan, who was drunk at that time, suddenly attacked SI Shanmugwell. Shanmugwell suffered serious injuries in the attack and died on the spot. After the murder, the accused escaped from the spot.
Search for accused continues
Local residents immediately informed the police after hearing the noise. The police team reached the spot and recovered the body of Shanmugwell and sent it to the government hospital for post -mortem. Seeing the seriousness of the incident, senior police officers reached the spot and ordered to investigate the matter in depth. A police officer said that the search for the accused is going on and they will be arrested soon.
