Congress leader Rahul Gandhi got bail on Wednesday (August 6) in a defamation case. He was Chaibasa of Jharkhand MP-mla The court gave relief. Rahul appeared in the court at around 10.55 am on Wednesday. According to the PTI report, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s lawyer said, “Rahul Gandhi appeared in the court as per the directions of the Jharkhand High Court. He requested bail which was approved. Now we will carry forward the process. ”
What was the whole matter
In fact, Rahul gave a controversial statement on the then BJP national president Amit Shah during the Congress session on 28 March 2018. After this, on 9 July 2018, Pratap Katihar filed a defamation case in Chaibasa Court. Rahul was sent summons several times regarding this matter, but he did not appear. Non-bailable warrant was issued against Rahul

He filed a petition in the Jharkhand High Court against this and got relief for some time, but in March 2024, the High Court disposed of the petition.
After this, the Chaibasa court again issued a non-bailable warrant on 22 May 2025. Finally, Rahul Gandhi made a personal presence in the court on 6 August, after which he was granted conditional bail. On behalf of Rahul Gandhi, senior advocates Pradeep Chandra and Dipankar Roy put the side in the court. Now this matter will move forward in the trial process.
