JDS expelled leader and former Lok Sabha MP Prajwal Revanna has been convicted by a special court of public representatives in Bangalore in the case of rape of a domestic worker at a farmhouse in Hollersipura in Hasan district. When the court ruled against former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, he became emotional in the court and started crying bitterly. This decision has been pronounced just 14 months after the FIR is registered. At the same time, the court sentence is going to announce the term on August 2.
Former MP Prajwal Revanna is the grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and nephew of former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy. He has been accused of serious allegations in four separate cases of sexual violence and rape. 4 FIRs had been registered between 28 April to 10 June 2024. These cases were registered at Holenarsipura Police Station, Hassan district. One of the 2 cybercrime cases was registered at Cybercrime Police Station under CID.
Technical investigation and porn video controversy
An alleged pornographic video surfaced in the case, which the court sought technical clarification. The court had to clarify how this video was transferred from the mobile of Karthik to his driver Karthik’s mobile. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted under CID has now submitted a detailed forensic report to the court. The report included the technical confirmation of mediums of transfer of digital logs video of digital logs video, WhatsApp/Bluetooth.
Legal screws on family too
Not only his father HD Revanna, who is currently the MLA of Holenarsipura. A separate case has also been registered against him at KR Police Station. This case may be probably related to tampering, threatening or involving co-crime with evidence.
