Mamta Banerjee accused of spreading fake news! BJP MP Sambhondu officer lodged a complaint

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and Shubhendu Adhikari’s brother Saumendu Adhikari has filed a formal complaint with the Delhi Police, in which West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been seriously accused of spreading false and communally inflammatory information through social media.

The controversy began when Mamata Banerjee shared a video on her social media accounts, claiming a Bengali migrant woman and her child to be allegedly beaten by the Delhi Police. The Chief Minister depicted the incident as violence and discrimination against the Bengali community and especially migrant laborers.

Samendu officer’s allegation conspiracy to mislead the public
The Lok Sabha MP from Kanthi, Souderandu Officer alleged that the Chief Minister deliberately shared such a video which is false and inflammatory. He says that this is a well-planned conspiracy to tarnish the image of Delhi Police, mislead the public and spread communal disharmony. He wrote in the complaint, “This video is an attempt to weaken India’s constitutional structure and social harmony. Such irresponsible act is extremely condemnable with a person sitting in constitutional post like Mamata Banerjee.”

Delhi Police’s refutation video is baseless and concocted
On Monday, senior Delhi Police officer Abhishek Dhania made it clear that the entire story of viral video on social media is baseless. He said that the concerned woman Sanjanu Parveen has confessed that she made this video at the behest of her relative, who is a political activist in Malda district of West Bengal.

Delhi Police claimed CCTV footage, local intelligence and technical evidence that the allegations are false. The woman allegedly stated that she was beaten to a deserted place and forced to recover Rs 25,000, but no evidence of these claims was found.

Mamta Banerjee’s answer- ‘I had already warned’
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reacted strongly to the cleanliness of Delhi Police. Speaking at a government program in Birbhum district, he said, “I had already said that mother and child will be intimidated. Check the record. Now that is happening. We will prove the truth by bringing them back.” He repeatedly emphasized that Bengali migrant workers are being discriminated against in other states and this video is a link to him.
