Chief Justice of India (CJI) Bhushan Ramakrishna Gawai reached his ancestral village in Amravati, Maharashtra on Friday (July 25, 2025), where he visited his old house, reinforcing his childhood memories. During this, CJI BR Gavai gave a big statement.
CJI BR Gawai said that after retiring from the post of Chief Justice of India, he will not accept any government post. The CJI said that I will not accept any government post after retiring from the post of Chief Justice.
My last hospitality here is CJI Gawai
Chief Justice BR Gavai in his speech refreshed childhood memories and said that I am overwhelmed by the reception received at many places in the village. He further said that this is my last hospitality (honor) here, because after this I will not accept the hospitality.
In fact, after becoming the Chief Justice, BR Gavai reached his native village for the first time, where the villagers welcomed him strongly. A large number of villagers thronged to meet the Chief Justice. The school students of the village honored Chief Justice BI Gawai. During this time, the villagers also raised slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai.

Please tell that Justice BR Gavai (May 14, 2025) was sworn in as the 52nd CJI of the country. He was sworn in by President Draupadi Murmu. CJI Sanjeev Khanna’s term ended on 13 May.
Bhushan Ramakrishna Gawai is the second Dalit Chief Justice of the country. Before him, Justice KG Balakrishnan held this post. Justice Balakrishnan became the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in 2007.
