Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh became the new Chief Justice of Telangana High Court, CM Revanth Reddy attended the oath ceremony

Justice Apresh Kumar Singh was sworn in at the Raj Bhavan on Saturday (July 19, 2025) as the new Chief Justice of Telangana High Court. The ceremony was held at 12:30 pm, in which Governor Jishnudev Verma administered the oath of office to Justice Apresh Kumar Singh.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramark, Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukhendra Reddy, Assembly Speaker Gadam Prasad Kumar, many ministers, government advisors, MLAs and members of the Legislative Council were present on this important occasion.

Justice Singh Telangana High Court seventh Chief Justice

Justice Apresh Kumar Singh was earlier employed as the Chief Justice of Tripura High Court. He was appointed on the recommendation of the collegium of the Supreme Court, which was approved by President Draupadi Murmu. Justice Singh is the seventh Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court.

Earlier, Telangana High Court acting Chief Justice was Justice Sujoy Paul, who has now been transferred to Kolkata High Court. Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh’s Nana Justice B.P. Sinha has been the sixth Chief Justice of India. After starting advocacy in 1990, he practiced in Patna High Court for 10 years.

Advocacy started in the year 2001

Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh advocated there after the formation of Jharkhand High Court in 2001 and was appointed Additional Judge in Jharkhand High Court in 2012. In 2014, he became a permanent judge and was the acting Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court during 2022-23. In April 2023, he was made the Chief Justice of the Tripura High Court.

Judicial process strengthened in Telangana High Court

Several prominent leaders of the Telangana government and High Court judges also attended this swearing -in ceremony, which further increased the dignity of the occasion. The appointment of Justice Apresh Kumar Singh is expected to further strengthen the judicial process in Telangana High Court.
