A desi rocket has been recovered from Churachandpur district of Manipur. Giving information on Tuesday (October 7, 2025), the police said that this rocket was 9 feet long and weighing 200 kg. He said that it was recovered from around S Lonfi and Tuikong villages on Sunday.
Manipur police said that this seizure in the state has taken place at a time when incidents of instability and violence in the state have not stopped completely. The bomb disposal squad was called on the spot to neutralize the rocket and safely remove explosive material. Top police officials said that they are investigating who and what purpose this rocket was prepared.
‘Additional deployment of security forces throughout the area’
Police officials said that according to preliminary investigation, this indigenous rocket may have been created by a local armed group. After the recovery of the rocket, additional deployment of security forces has been done in the entire area and a large -scale search operation is being carried out.
An elderly person died in rocket attack
Let us know that an elderly person was killed in a rocket attack in Moirang in Bishnupur district of Manipur in September 2024. Since this incident, security agencies have been constantly monitoring the network related to rockets and explosive construction. The police have appealed to the people to immediately inform the suspicious activities so that the use of such dangerous weapons can be prevented.
Earlier, security forces in Manipur had recovered 2 powerful IEDs in Jiribam on Sunday night and destroyed them. A major accident was averted by this. An official said that on the basis of intelligence information, the soldiers of Assam Rifles recovered 2 IEDs weighing 12 kg and 3 electric power sources weighing 12 kg during a search operation in Makhabasti, Jiribam adjoining South Assam.
