The death toll due to the consumption of fake liquor in Kukatpalli region of Hyderabad has increased to 6. This incident has caused panic in the local community. The deceased have been identified as Swaroop (56), Tulsiram (47), Chakli Bojjayya (55), Narayanamma (65), Monica (25) and Narayan. All these were residents of Saycharan Colony under HMT Hills.
This incident started when many people consumed liquor on local liquor contracts in Kukatpalli, Balanagar, Hydernagar, Shamashiguda and Bhagyanagar Colony on the evening of 7 July. The next day, many people faced serious health problems like vomiting, diarrhea and low blood pressure. Locals immediately admitted the affected persons to Randev Rao Hospital in Kukatpalli, from where some were transferred to Nims and Gandhi Hospital. & Nbsp;
5 suspects in custody
A total of 19 people have been affected by the consumption of fake liquor, out of which 6 have died, while 2 others remain in critical condition. The administration has taken quick action in this matter. Excise and Police Department has five suspects – Nagesh Gaur, B.C. Srinivas Gaur, T. Srinivas Gaur, T. Kumar Gaur and Legal Ramesh have been detained. Along with this, three liquor contracts have been sealed and 600 liters of fake liquor has been seized. Alcohol samples have been sent to the laboratory for examination. & Nbsp;
What the Excise Minister said?
Excise Minister Jupalli Krishnarao instructed the patients admitted to Nims and instructed doctors for better treatment. He has assured to take strict steps to stop such incidents in future.
Several cases have been registered in connection with this incident at Kukatpalli police station. Anita, wife of the deceased Sitaram and Premanandachari, son of Swaroop, have lodged a complaint, describing fake liquor as the cause of death. Police and Excise Departments are jointly investigating it so that those responsible for this tragedy can be punished.
