44.4 tons of plutonium, 5,500 nuclear bombs…This neighbor of China is on the verge of becoming the biggest nuclear power, Jinping’s breathing is stuck?

Chinese media has made a big revelation amid the American-Israeli attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites. Chinese media has reported that an Asian country is on its way to becoming a bigger nuclear power than America and Russia and that country is Japan. The report, while disclosing Japan’s defense industry and plutonium reserves, says that its aim is not only to make nuclear weapons, but also to become the world’s largest nuclear power. In the report it has been termed as Japan’s secret ambition.

China’s official military mouthpiece PLA Daily had released a report on March 30, in which many serious allegations were made against Japan and warned the world that Tokyo has such a huge stockpile of material to make nuclear weapons that in a very short time it will become the world’s largest nuclear power. The report alleged that Japan is dangerously expanding its defense industry, capacity and international involvement.

Japan has huge reserves of 44.4 tons of plutonium
The report also warns that Japan has crossed the red line and has huge stockpiles to make nuclear weapons, including 44.4 tons of plutonium. According to the report, Japan can make 5,500 nuclear weapons with this much plutonium. This figure is more than Russia and America. At present, Russia is the world’s largest nuclear power with 5,400 weapons.

Japan’s plutonium reserves also in France and Britain
It was also reported in Japan’s Kyodo news agency last year that Tokyo has a stockpile of 44.4 tons of plutonium, this plutonium is stored inside Japan and outside in countries like Britain and France, where radioactive waste from Japanese nuclear plants is converted into plutonium. It can be used for military purposes. According to the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF), Japan has reserves of 8.6 tons of plutonium inside, while 35.8 tons of plutonium is outside, 21.7 tons is in Britain and 14.1 tons is in France.

The report also warns that if Japan lifts self-imposed sanctions under its three anti-nuclear principles, it could become a major nuclear power in a very short time. These anti-nuclear principles were introduced in 1967 during the tenure of former Japanese Prime Minister Isaku Sato and were adopted as a parliamentary resolution in 1971.

Japan is expanding defense industry
The anti-nuclear principles are- 1. Neither will Japan possess nuclear weapons, 2. Nor will it manufacture nuclear weapons, 3. Nor will it permit the entry of nuclear weapons into Japan’s territory. However, PLA Daily report says that Japan is expanding its defense industry under the guise of civilian technology. The report quoted the South China Morning Post as saying that Japan had allocated $109.6 million for its Technology Transition Research Program in 2025, which is 18 times more than the figure for 2022.

Iran and Japan are members of NPT
The special thing is that both Iran and Japan are members of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). This treaty does not allow other member countries to possess nuclear weapons except five countries – America, Russia, France, Britain and China. It was signed in 1968 and came into force in 1970. Its purpose is to prevent the proliferation of nuclear weapons and weapons technology, promote the peaceful uses of nuclear energy, and advance the goal of disarmament. India is not its member.
