A sensational case of kidnapping and killing a 13 -year -old student Nischith A has come to light in Hulimavu police station area on the outskirts of Bengaluru. His burnt body was recovered in a deserted area near Bannerghatta Road on Thursday (31 July, 2025) evening. This incident has shook the entire city.
According to Tahrir given to the police, Nischith went to the tuition class on the evening of 30 July and had to return home by 8 pm. When he did not reach home, his father approached the tuition teacher, who confirmed that Nishitha had left the house after class. The family started searching for him and after some time his bicycle was found in unclaimed condition near a park. Meanwhile, Nischith’s parents received a phone call demanding a ransom of Rs 5 lakh.
Burned child’s body
The police immediately came into action and started a search operation. On Thursday evening, a shepherd saw the body of a child burnt in a deserted area and informed the police. The body was identified as Nishchith. The SP of Bangalore Rural inspected the scene. The police suspect that the kidnappers murdered as soon as the complaint was lodged.
Investigation revealed that the accused Gurumurthy, who was a temporary driver in the victim’s house, carried out the crime with his partner Gopikrishna alias Gopalakrishna. Gurumurthy kidnapped Nischith on Wednesday evening and made a call for ransom.
Encounter of two accused
According to sources, late Thursday night, the police received information about the accused being hidden near Kaglipura Road. The Hulimavu police team tried to catch them at around 1 pm. During this time, the accused tried to escape by attacking the police with a knife. Despite not accepting the warning, the police fired in self -defense, causing Gurumurthy’s two legs and a bullet in the right leg of Gopikrishna. Both have been admitted to the hospital.
Police believe that the accused strangled Nischith to death and tried to burn the dead body for fear of being caught. Cases of murder, kidnapping and attack on government employees have been registered at Bannerghatta police station. The police team is carrying forward the investigation based on CCTV footage and other evidence.
